Wizarding World Of Harry Potter
Step inside the snow-capped shops of Hogsmeade Village to find a variety of Hogwarts essentials from Ollivander‘s wands to uniforms by Dervish and Banges. You could also drop by Hog’s Head to grab a mug of Butterbeer, or perhaps some Chocolate Frogs from Honeydukes for some delightful treats. Hogsmeade has everything that spells “magic” (and yummy) in it.
Hogwarts Castle is the crowning glory of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Every detail from base to spire are carefully replicated and meticulously design to stay true to Rowling’s imagery. Behind its massive castle walls are Dumbledore’s Office, Gryffindor Common Room, and the classroom for the Defense Against The Dark Arts – all of which can be explored through the Hogwarts Castle Walk.
Other shops in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter section includes Zonko’s Joke Shop, Wiseacre’s Wizarding Equipment, Owl Post & Owlery, Gladrags Wizardwear and Filch’s Emporium of Consfiscated Goods.
Harry Potter And The Forbidden Journey 4K 3D
Embark on The Harry Potter and The Forbidden Journey 4K 3D and relive the iconic scenes from the saga. Swoop past sky-high spires, escape a Hungarian Horntail, and go head to head with Hogwarts’ finest Quidditch seekers – this ride takes you on high-speed Hogwarts school tour riding a broomstick on steroids. Actually, it’s not a broomstick but a bench.
This multi-decorated theme park attraction garnered awards such as Theme Park Insiders “Best New Attraction” in 2010, and was recognized in the 17th Annual THEA Awards with the “Outstanding Achievement Award (for future attraction)”. The Forbidden Journey also stopped Spidey’s 12-year reign in “Best Dark Ride” category of the Golden Ticket Awards. Quite the epic ride just fitted for Rowling’s timeless epic!
Another ride attraction in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter area is the Flight of the Hippogriff.
The Flying Dinosaur
Free fall from 5-storeys hight and glide, twist, turn at heart-stopping speeds beneath the wings of a flying reptile. USJ’s latest attraction The Flying Dinosaur boasts the the fastest initial drop and the world’s longest flying roller coaster. With a speed that peaks at 100 km/h, this hair-raising rollercoaster ride is perhaps the fastest two minutes of your Homo sapien life.
Another rollercoaster attraction is the Hollywood Dream Ride located at the Hollywood Area.
Halloween Attractions – Street Zombies, Tatari, & The Exorcist
Explore the realm of the paranormal with USJ’s horror houses featuring “Tatari: Curse Of The Living Doll” and, the American horror flick, “The Exorcist: A House of Exorcism”. Both attractions were built in an intricately-designed labyrinth filled with surprises that will shock even Emily Rose.
Night time attractions also include street zombies. Smothered and spattered in blood, they roam the streets of USJ in hordes before bursting into a thrilling dance number making Halloween nights more alive than dead. Thrill-seeking horror (and Michael Jackson) fans will definitely find all these treats a nightmare to look forward to.
Where To Eat
Get your gastronomic fix from a wide selection of food joints ranging from full-service restaurants to food trucks all over USJ. There’s an Irish pub called Finneggan’s Bar & Grill that serves steaks, soup, salad, and the whole nine. Its bar offer a variety of cocktails, local beers, imported beers, draft beers, even green beers – now that’s a pub!
A hungry party of four could never go wrong with Three Broomsticks‘ Special Halloween Feast. Each monster-sized platter – it includes grilled chicken, barbeque ribs, corn cobs, salad, vegetables – can feed the entire House Gryffindor. Hefty!
If you’re feeling for something light and on-the-go, try bite-sized mustache-shaped cookies at the Universal Re-Boooooooorn Market or perhaps the smoked turkey leg. No, it’s not light – I lied. This turkey leg is as big as a Wooly Mammoth, and is certainly, one giant treat.
